WELCOME!
This course is an introduction to the expressive possibilities of digital, time-based and interactive technologies. New Media projects are designed to encourage experimentation while refining technical skills. Students will explore creative and practical applications of a variety of media: 2D design; printmaking; augmented & virtual reality; animation; digital photography + video; sound recording and manipulation; digital fabrication; lighting; installation and beyond. Participants will work on both individual and collaborative projects and have access to state-of-the-art multimedia equipment, studios and technical support. As part of the New Media Art Major, students will visit a number of the University of Pennsylvania’s most innovative facilities.
